This fan blows a lot of air at full speed, but it's quite noisy as I installed it. I clipped it into the front of the mini-ATX case. The case uses a removable grill to mount the fan, and the removable nozzle is just a bunch of holes. If you are an experienced system builder, you should be aware that having a fan inlet so close to a bad case grille will cause cavitation, making the fan MUCH louder than it would be at the same speed outdoors. My plan is to move my FreeNAS machine that houses this fan to an enclosure with much better ventilation for the fan, or just a dremel made from the metal area where the fan is attached. It becomes quieter and moves more air. I bought this particular fan based on the brand, bearing technology, and nominal CFM. It's my totally unscientific opinion that it moves the air that it claims. It was installed on my FreeNAS machine to move air over two high speed Seagate enterprise class spinning hard drives configured in a mirrored set. If you are looking for a well-made, high-performance fan and are less concerned about fan noise, I think this is a good choice.
