I ordered this because I am more self-care conscious. I'm a 40 year old single mom who was always the last to arrive and I'm working to change that to be a better mom. We cannot take good care of others if we don't take care of ourselves. I've had neck pain for no reason since 2016, but I suspect this is due to a lot of stress/injury and a lot of daily commuting. I focused on getting more massagers and hot tubs to help. They work! If anything, it doesn't look like a typical neck massager with rotating elements on the bottom. This is a TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) machine. You can research this yourself. It's incredibly helpful for pain relief and it's more like a mild electric shock but feels good (depending on the intensity). Part of the neck sends these pulses and heat when you program it, but you can attach adhesive pads (electrodes) to different parts of the body. There are so many different modes and I would start at the lowest and work my way up. I can't handle the highest settings and stick with medium. There are different "beats" it will play and the types of sounds it emits. I've placed them in the areas where I have the most pain, such as: B. Pain in the lower back, bladder or pelvis. It really helps with bladder pain (I had interstitial cystitis). Since then I have actually taken less ibuprofen for my bladder pain. I attach one electrode to my bladder and another to my lower back and do this before bed. If you put them on certain muscles and the setting is too high, your muscles will literally keep tightening. There is also an automatic shutdown. So I didn't know I had ordered such a device but damn I'm happy as I was going to buy a TENS machine anyway. When moving the electrodes, make sure not to touch the part that touches your skin unless you are wearing them, otherwise you will feel a shock. Obviously it's the same intensity as on your body, but it's not great on the fingertips and feels like a shock (learned the hard way). My dog doesn't like it when I switch modes. It is incredibly loud with a beep. It's just amazing technology that can help people in pain. I like that this device can send pulses to my neck and also to the electrodes (3 places) at the same time. It really helps me to relax before bed. I strongly recommend you read the manual for safety reasons. The instructions are so small that I had to take a photo and enlarge it because I couldn't read it. There is good information there. I definitely recommend it.
