I don't normally write reviews but feel like I have to. I will say that I have no such experience with hand grinders, this is my second coffee grinder. I alternate between espresso and poor over. I have a fairly high espresso setting. Expobar office combined with Baratza Vario. Switching back and forth between the two is problematic. Once you've set the grinder on this bob, it's best to leave it alone. In my opinion anyway. That's why I decided to buy a cheap manual meat grinder. The one usually found in top articles about hand grinders. I don't feel the need to call it. I was very happy with the pourover. it was pretty quick I thought. It takes about 2 minutes to grind a 30 gram dose. I've experimented with this for espresso and it's a total failure. It took about 4 minutes to grind an 18 gram dose on the finest setting. I only have 2 strips. So I accepted him for who he is. A coffee grinder that can be used for brews that require a larger grit than espresso. Fast forwarding about a year and I decided to do some research on what's out there right now. 1Zpresso piqued my interest based on an article I read about the best grinders and reviews here and elsewhere. I was amazed. Firstly, to me it is very stylish and feels like a premium product. But what really impressed me was the performance. I was able to grind my usual 30 gram dose in about 30 seconds. And the cut was definitely more consistent than my other. For my next test, I tried brewing an espresso using one of the recommended espresso settings. It wasn't easy and required a lot of effort and lasted almost 2 minutes. As soon as I rammed it in I could say it was very good and actually thought it was going to choke my car. I was right. I couldn't believe that a $130 manual coffee grinder could steam a professional machine. As with any grinder, this setting may work with one bean but not another. So I made a change that I thought would bring me closer. My second grind took less than a minute and was much easier to complete. It was still too good. I was on 10 bars and it took me about 50 seconds to take a shot. Just a little adjustment and I'm there. Got my 9 bars I was looking for and they were even easier to grind. It took me 48 seconds to grind an 18 gram dose with the right setting. For me it's amazing. I've read that if you prefer espresso, you should go for the professional model, as it offers a wider range of settings to fine-tune the grind size. I can't vouch for this as I didn't use a pro, but I felt I could dial my bean with the settings available. The only caveat is that the bunker is small. I can only grind about 20 grams at a time, although the plenum holds 35 grams, depending on the grit. But it is very easy to reload quickly. This is not big enough for me to rate it less than 5 stars. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with this coffee grinder.
