Review on WYNNsky Switch Female Thread Fitting by Doug Hawkins

Small Definition of Full Port

Application: shutting down a small air compressor, replacing an old, worn (leaking) full bore DeVilbiss. The Wynnsky valve is compact and worked in a space I needed the valve to work in, otherwise I would have bought the bulkier Milton valve. The valve does not leak and the red goo on the male end seals the valve without additional teflon tape. The downside to this valve is that "full port" is a stretch. The connector side is an industrial type quick connect lumen size. So this valve is like another "industrial" quick coupler in line with the airflow. The original DeVilbiss bore about 1/3 larger and the overall physical size was about the same, so the Wynnsky valve is smaller in terms of flow. In my case the compressor is small but if I can find a larger valve that fits the small space I would replace the valve to reduce the flow restriction. I'm gradually transitioning to Milton V quick couplers, which have a lot more play than industrial quick couplers.

Pros
  • Red Plastic-coated lever handle for manual on/off switching.
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
