I grew up with a lot of different aquariums. Saltwater, freshwater, 50 gallon, 150 gallon etc. I know this aquarium is more difficult to maintain due to its small size. But come on! I put him on a fish free cycle for at least 6 weeks with no natural light whatsoever. Although the filter worked all the time, the water remained cloudy. The entire substrate was thoroughly rinsed before addition and the water was initially crystal clear but soon became cloudy and remained so for almost 2 months. And it doesn't even have fish! In my opinion, the filtration system is strikingly poor and weak. I couldn't imagine that you can keep taps here and keep the water clean. I don't usually leave bad reviews, but this is an expensive buy for something that looks aesthetically pleasing but doesn't do the job it's supposed to. Also, oddly enough, the top cover is now warped and no longer sits flush. Just odd as the LED doesn't generate much heat. Not sure what's going on there. Just disappointed.
