Was looking for a webcam with white balance and exposure control as standard webcams don't. Unfortunately, this is not the same camera. 1) Live USB output is "clean" (no camera health artifacts on screen) but no way to control white balance or exposure. The camera gets very hot in a room with incandescent lights. My shirt is grey. The webcam I was hoping to replace delivers much better color reproduction. (See photo) 2) Direct connection on HDMI output is NOT clean (see photo). In this setting you can control the white balance and exposure. I tried all the settings but the camera stayed too warm. Exposure control is better. (I use Black Magic Design's switcher to convert HDMI to USB input.) 3) Finally, the lens has a pin-cushion distortion effect. Straight lines appear curved compared to a straight lens. (Check out the difference in body lines in the photos between my current webcam and this camera) 4) I use a Sony RX100 with HDMI output if I'm into video sharing, but I was hoping that the duel of USB and HDMI emanating from this camera would add some convenience. This camera is lightweight and probably suitable for use as a daylight camcorder. I like the pen and the microphone. I keep the camera as a backup for my existing photo/video gear, but my search for the best webcam continues (in the photos, the item circled in yellow is an existing webcam).
