When using a roll, first cut open the bag, leave some space to seal both ends, close one end first, put food inside, make sure the end of the bag is open in the chamber, press the lid until you hear a click, choose the mode (any dry or wet food), choose vacuum packaging, then it will suit you. The light will indicate whether it is still working or finished. It took me ten minutes to figure everything out with no instructions and it works and exceeds my expectations.
