Cuts pretty tight corners, I've gotten close to 1" in diameter on 18 gauge mild steel, but it's not easy. The metal twists under the guard, so wear gloves and trim those coils regularly when making long cuts. If I could add one thing that would make it a better tool, it would be a guide on how to cut properly (especially for novice users). It moves fast so hold on tight or you'll be all over the place with bloody hands.
