12 hours. On average, I take 18,000 steps per shift. The constant abuse on my feet is tremendous but I think I've gotten used to it so I didn't really feel it until I came back to work from maternity leave earlier this year. My first few backward moves were brutal, my legs were swollen and I was beginning to notice the veins on my legs becoming more prominent. (Which was odd and only noticeable on weekdays) I had constant pain in my legs and tried to cut down on walking towards the end of my shift. I knew I was getting older (not getting old, just getting old) and my body couldn't take the abuse for long, so I started looking for compression stockings to improve circulation and minimize the risk of varicose veins (I mean really, who needs spider veins?!) I have thicker feet than most (size 5.5 very wide, 6 wide, or 6.5-7 in regular width shoes) so finding one can be a challenge that fits my feet but for the price of this product I said what the heck I'm going to try! ** The product itself was individually boxed (one pair in a small plastic bag) shipped in a larger plastic bag to accommodate all five pairs. Not really protected, not really in need of protection. I bought a size S/M (according to the sizing chart) thinking I would risk them rolling down my foot (again, I have fat feet. I'm a 200+ pound woman after all). The socks were not only odorless (sometimes food smells like chemicals or plastic), but also felt comfortable. When I put them on I was pleasantly surprised that they fit snugly on my legs but not as uncomfortable/constricting as TED stockings/stockings. I was nervous that they would actually help, but I went to work with them. Not only did I forget that I was wearing compression stockings, but I also felt that they helped my legs not hurt as much. It was less uncomfortable because they were so tight my feet didn't get swollen. When I got home I took off my shoes and was surprised that they didn't itch when I took my socks off (they usually do after work because my shoes get tight after 12 hours of wear). Veins on the tops of the legs, actually they are not swollen at all. Would I buy this product again? Yes! Would I recommend it? Yes. After a few weeks of use and several washes I can say: a I'm still satisfied with this product. It was great not having to worry about my feet swelling. I don't need multicolored socks so I just went for black pairs. I bought the size recommended by the seller and they fit as expected. I understand that they may not be for everyone, but they are worth it. Buy a pair. They could work wonders for you like they did for me!
