I went back to buy a second one. I bought the first one on January 9th, 2014. I'm writing this on July 13, 2017. So my first one lasted 3-1/2 years. Mine failed and gradually lost sensitivity to sunlight, causing the electric current to stay on for too long. In other words, it stopped turning off the outside lights except in bright sunshine, and my light stayed on until 9 or 10am, even on a clear summer day. I think that's pretty typical of photo controls in general and it's a better way to get outside than not leaving the lights on at night. Our application is a business building. It controls three LED lights above the storage gates as well as five spotlights on our front awning. I have bought many brands of photo controllers over the last 17 years and this one is the best. (Why am I buying it again.) They all fail sooner or later, it's just a matter of how long you can go between replacements.
