Don't waste your money on cheap tripods. This is one of the best tripods I've used in this price range. I originally bought a cheap $50 tripod to test and it couldn't even hold the camera. This tripod is "heavy" in that it feels sturdy and is made of metal rather than plastic. It can look straight down, which is perfect for videos where the camera should be above you, but there's no one around to help! Basically, it has a built-in alignment system that shows you're always flat, making you look like a surveyor. I use a Nikon D7100 with multiple lens sizes and it holds them all perfectly, even with the mic attached.
