Review on Waterdrop Sediment Filter 50 Micron Molybdenum by Daniel Steele

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Unfortunately this company is run by a bean counter

The product appears to be well made but I will update this review later to let you know how it is holding up. I encountered two problems with the purchase. This product comes with a registration card with a QR code that promises the buyer a free gift if the product is registered. This is when things get interesting. This is the third time the manufacturer's registration page is missing the model number of the product I'm trying to register. Therefore I cannot register this product at the moment. The second and most annoying thing is that this product comes without a mounting bracket but comes with Sharkbite push-to-connect connectors. In addition, PEX is listed in the instructions as an acceptable pipe material. So imagine this, the filter is attached to a 3/4" PEX 4'-7' floor and supported by semi-rigid PEX pipe. Now imagine you are changing the filter and you need to replace it with a Hold hand .wrench , the other to hold the filter in place so you can loosen the filter housing while the entire housing is held in place by a semi-rigid tube.I know this from experience, push to connect fittings will do eventually start to leak with vibration and/or movement over time Impossible to remove the filter without subjecting the fitting to movement Replacing the filter with additional threaded fittings is possible if you have help I don't know how Yours fine, but needing someone else to help me change the filter, this is my definition of BAD design.

Pros
  • First line of defense
Cons
  • Small change
