Great product as it fitted my 02 F150 Lariat truck perfectly. Installation took less than 10 minutes! I removed the rear door inner panel to gain access to the hatch, unscrewed the old handle, removed my lock in "less than 10 seconds", installed it into the new handle, reinstalled it and it fitted perfectly into the old recessed grip cast into the rear doors! I of course had a Dewalt cordless drill and bits for removing the tailgate inner trim :) which made the installation a lot quicker! Before installing the back panel, I closed the back door a few times to make sure it was operational. However, I have adjusted the rods coming from the new handle that go to the latches on either side of the tailgate. I did this because I knew they needed to be adjusted before my old grip broke. The gate now works like new and couldn't be happier! 287,000.0 miles and 18 years. later, my truck is still running and looks like new, despite heavy use, it transports material every day! You just can't beat a Ford truck as it's the most durable truck I've ever owned! Dodge was the worst truck! There was a POS truck in the store always fixing something!
