I bought 1mm and 2mm thick spacers as replacement thermal pads for my RTX 3080 to keep GDDR6X memory cool. Installation was pretty easy, but that's the only good thing about these pads. Unfortunately, these thermal pads perform WORSE than traditional thermal pads. With the stock thermal pads, I was able to handle a +1300 memory overclock at 90% fans with a memory junction temperature of around 100-102C (which I felt was too hot). With these pads I have to keep the fans at 100% and lower the memory overclock to around -500 (yes, negative, that's why I'm using this below manufacturer spec now) to keep the memory at 106C. While I'm sure they work well for other GPUs, they don't work well for the RTX 3080. I suggest you look for higher thermal conductivity thermal pads if you plan on using them on the RTX 3080 (and possibly the 3090 since they also use GDDR6X). I will try to return them as they are beyond useless for my use case (in fact they cost me money in downtime and performance degradation).
