excellent heat transfer properties for flat surfaces

I use 0.5mm and 1.5mm thick sheet metal as heat transfer layer with aluminum heat sinks placed on two metal case devices - one of which is a subwoofer- Plate amp driving a bass shaker and the other is a cable company DVR which gets very hot. Because these thermal pads are easy to remove, they're ideal when you want to keep your devices' surface and internal temperatures down by dissipating heat either passively with a heatsink or with a silent electric fan on top of the heatsink. Done as intended (although the end result was a mistake)

So I bought them to keep my Macbook Pro from overheating less by having these thermal pads in contact with the bottom of the case (that's how the bottom acts like a giant heat spreader). Needless to say, these thermal pads worked very well and the temps dropped a bit, they just worked as I expected, a little "too well" at heat transfer. Depending on the position of the thermal pads, the touching areas on the underside got very hot after prolonged use, which I couldn't use on my lap. Changing…

Exceeded expectations

The highest praise for this product. I have a compact broadband security router (Ubiquiti USG) that is housed in a 5 inch chassis. x 5 inches. Metal, but fanless, case and gets quite warm. Not enough for RTX 3080

I bought 1mm and 2mm thick spacers as replacement thermal pads for my RTX 3080 to keep GDDR6X memory cool. Installation was pretty easy, but that's the only good thing about these pads. Unfortunately, these thermal pads perform WORSE than traditional thermal pads. With the stock thermal pads, I was able to handle a +1300 memory overclock at 90% fans with a memory junction temperature of around 100-102C (which I felt was too hot).
