Worn on first use

Used these to tie 2 kayaks to cross rails, nothing sharp or angled which I have done hundreds of times. These belts are wearing fell off the first time I used it, I don't even know why? Unfortunately, because I really liked the rubber boot. I tried to show it in pictures, but in real life it looks worse. Came back.
