I wanted to make handprints/footprints on canvas for my little boy (1 month old) and I CREATED with non-toxic paint (smeared). After purchasing this pad, my happiness has improved phenomenally. Handprints are still difficult because babies WRITE! But my project turned out great! (Some stains on the bottom came from my baby's kicking, not the ink pad.) It's pretty easy to clean; I only used towels. The ink stayed in the small crevices on his hands/toes and under his nails after his bath, but eventually the ink disappeared and since it's non-toxic I wasn't worried.
