Much better than expected and definitely better than the built-in webcam

Didn't expect such quality of video and camera. However, after receiving and using it, it is much better than expected. The build quality is good. Pictures and videos are taken day and night compared to the webcam on my laptop. I don't have any other external webcam to compare. The first image here is from the built-in webcam, and while the color is good, it's dark and grainy, and it's hard to make out the ceiling and cover light pattern. The other 3 images are from the Nexigo camera and you can see the images are brighter and sharper. The popcorn ceiling and the pattern on the ceiling are clearly visible. The 2nd and 3rd picture are taken with the camera's physical zoom button and the pictures are good. They were all filmed with no lights, curtains drawn and skies gray. It works well with the camera app's autofocus. The field of view is also good and the claimed 95 degrees. I think if it were higher there would be a fisheye effect that many cameras with a field of view > 100 degrees suffer from. Video works the same. 30 fps is what you get and all you need. 60fps or higher is only needed for recording sports or other high speed action/movement. So don't believe those who say 60 fps is a better webcam and don't advise against it. The only thing that could be better for a webcam is a better low light picture or 4k resolution. Or the microphone, which is also good here and more than sufficient for meetings. Although the laptop mic works well too. But if you record videos or something like that, you probably have a separate microphone or headphones for meetings. One thing I would like to say, and this is Windows only and must be a manufacturer or camera app issue, is that you cannot change the mirroring on your display. Although the recorded video or image is correct from left to right on the receiving side of the video call when displayed on the screen, it is not mirrored. This isn't a problem on my Chromebook (there's an option to change the screen mirroring in the camera app) or Android TV. So this must be a windows issue and a google search shows this is a windows issue as is skype, teams with external webcams. Zoom seems to have the ability to switch to mirroring. The camera material is nice and has a matte finish. Zooming is easy with a physical button, but it would be nice if you could change it with the on-screen mouse or keyboard. But it's plug and play, no drivers, so use 3rd party apps I guess. My only minor complaint at the moment is that the privacy shutters are difficult to close but will likely get easier with time and use. But they are closed. It sits well on the laptop, but you can also use a camera tripod as it has threads for it. The camera position is easy to adjust and rotate. Love it so much I bought 2 more for my kid's laptop which they will also get for Christmas. Since they're currently spending more time hanging out with friends online, they'll likely be spending more time doing so for at least next year.

Pros
  • 【Plug and Play】The webcam will be installed automatically when you connect the webcam to your device's USB 2.0/3.0 interface. The universal adjustable clamp fits any laptop/mac/pc/lcd monitor and even other flat surface monitors, meeting different needs of laptop or pc quickly and easily.
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
