First of all, this muffler fits my 2004 Chevy 2500hd 6.0 long cab perfectly. After years of using the Flowmaster drone I just couldn't take it anymore so I bought this muffler along with a Walker exhaust #55538. I had a muffler shop installed and they cut the factory pipes right in front of the old Flowmaster. and the factory pipes coming off the cats slid right into that muffler. I was initially hesitant to buy because I was concerned it would be too quiet. When it first started up after installation, it was too quiet. But after driving about a few hundred miles, I think it may have "broken in" a bit. I'm very happy with it now. It has a healthy rumble at idle, sounds decent under acceleration, and sounds really good at 4500-6000 if you're really into it. I've towed my 28ft boat at 70-80mph on the freeway several times since installing it and there has been absolutely no drone. Even on big hills around 4500+ rpm in 3rd gear sounds good. You can talk or listen to the radio in the cockpit and still know you have a V8 engine if you really want to use it.
