Very effective. Little did I know there were huge gaps around the pipes under my sink and when mice started having problems in our house the same thing happened to my unit. I couldn't figure out how those little suction cups got in. came and he put bait and traps around but he told me he couldn't fill the gaps around the pipes and that I would have to call a contractor to do it. The largest gap was less than 2.5 cm, so it seemed excessive. After some research I found this stuff and so far so good. Be sure to wear gloves and be careful when removing small parts that will inevitably fall off the product. When you are finished cutting this material, be sure to remove the small bits that fall off as they will hurt if you touch or step on them. I was unlucky enough to pick up some splinters at my feet! A little pain, I can say that. I recommend cutting the fabric over the newspaper and wiping the spots where there might be splinters with a damp paper towel. But that's great because the mice will get hurt if they even try to get to me.
