I've read reviews on some of the wire connectors that have popped up in my ducts and the general recommendation was to stick with the original Wago 221 lever and nut connectors came in handy and bought this little "sampler" to try them out. MY GOD! These things are awesome! They easily fit a variety of wire gauges and are easy to use and install. I think they take less time to prepare and install than traditional bundles of twisted wire nuts. Best of all, having these things in an electrical box that's both a connection and contains switches or sockets is an incredible space-saver, especially if you're also trying to power up bulky items like dimmers or smart home automation switches/sockets. Your ground and neutral wires can be spliced and bundled neatly into an easy-to-follow series of flat connectors and pressed against the back of the box, rather than the giant bundle of twisted wires ending in the giant wire nut (and sometimes tape). that tends to take up a large amount of valuable "real estate" in a switch box, and often requires you to "squeeze" a switch/outlet into the remaining cramped space. These clever flat lever nuts leave plenty of room for light switches or sockets. Connections are made quickly, easily, and with virtually no errors every time. There is virtually no need to strip the insulation from the end of the cable to connect it. In this case, it's almost like "less is more". I've often been frustrated with the wire losing contact under the wire nut during this twist - or shorting out if the wire is accidentally touched/pierced while the switch/socket is being screwed on. Wire shorts are often difficult to trace and identify, and unwrapping, untangling, and re-twisting wires (or repairing an accidental hole in wire insulation) is a difficult task. There are no problems with these clever connectors. , and 5-wire connectors. I thought that maybe I need to connect more than 5 wires, but that's not the case. If necessary, the two connections can simply be "chained". I've come across a couple of 4-wire connectors that "wasted" one of the 'slots' of the 5-lever connector nuts, and I wished for a moment there was a 4-wire connector - but apparently he doesn't exist. "slotted" wires, I didn't lose sleep because of it. I loved these Wago 221 Series Lever Nuts so much after trying them on a recent wiring project that I have since bought a larger assortment pack as I never want to run out as I have no plans to use traditional wire nuts anymore! want if I can avoid it! Thank you Wago for a great product and these different kits are a great way to use them. Although I haven't checked, I suppose I can buy bulk packs of one size connectors like you can with regular wire nuts if I use many of one size. But that "problem" is for another day.
