Great Little Hotspot

Arrived on Saturday and was up and running in a few hours. Disclaimer - I have extensive experience in networking and ham radio. BUT I had no experience with Pi-Star software or digital voice radio. I followed the advice from the comments posted here and did some homework at amateurradionotes.com/pi-star.htm which had a great step by step setup. Also appreciated the post here on using wired ethernet and wifi - it worked like a champ, thanks. Once started you still need to connect the radio to an access point and this depends heavily on whether you are using D-Star, DMR or Fusion. I use D-Star with Kenwood TH-D74A. Again, the pointers to the URL above will help you find the right online registration to set up your callsign, get your radio ID, etc. Bottom line: if you're already a digital user, you can probably join in. and works in 30 minutes or less. If you're new to digital, be prepared to spend the extra time surfing the web to set up your credentials, but the hotspot itself is pretty basic. Since installation, he has shown himself to be a champion. Overall very good value for money.
