It's a good unit but there is a BIG caveat. The 12 volt input is through the Anderson Powerpole connectors, not the ring-bolt (battery) connectors, which I was kinda expecting. Cables attached to Anderson Powerpole connectors are only 3 feet long. So if you need more wires to get to the battery, you have two options. Either connect the longer wires to the included #10 wires (which the instructions don't recommend), or buy new Powerpole connectors, a special crimping tool ($40), and some #8 or #6 wires. I was disappointed that there was no mention of protruding more or that the longer wire wasn't pre-punched at the terminals. EDIT: These are not 30 or 45 AMP Powerpole plugs, but 75 AMP! I had to return everything I bought to make the 12 volt wires (30 amp connectors, crimp tool, and 10 ga wire) and buy a pre-made one ($47). It was a huge pain.
