Review on πŸ”¬ Enhance Your Sandblasting Projects with the Sandblaster Professional Sandblast Equipment AS118 by Carl Movahed

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Works as advertised, best to use outdoors!

I bought this to remove rust from the bulkhead of my 1989 Land Rover Defender 90. The metal in this area is plywood board. In other words, it's multiple sheets of 20-gauge sheet steel welded together by spot welding. My angle grinders tended to loosen too much no matter how gritty the disc was or how fine I was. The package arrived within a few days and it does indeed come with a 1/4" NPT fitting which I was able to use once. After looking at Revain's prices for the media you can use with it I decided to visiting my local hardware store. I was glad they packed fine grit "blasting sand" in a 100 lb bag. $7! The cheapest I've seen at Revain is $15 while most are $30 for Β£8! Sure Revain products probably cut better but I reckon what $7 Sand lacks in cutting power it makes up for in volume lol! I was right! I have a quiet (sort of) running 20 gallon Husky air compressor with an inline filter/dryer and it ran like a champ Sand will fall out of the nozzle if it's tilted down too far but I've found that a slight downward angle ensures a consistent flow without too much waste .Den R ost cut it off with no problem and without damaging the good steel underneath. It doesn't cut through thick old paint easily though, although that's probably due to the sand I used and the gun itself. In conclusion, I am satisfied with the purchase for this project. I know I can use it on other wood projects without damage. It's perfect for a hardware store as you don't need a 30-60 gallon compressor for good performance.
