This was a gift for my son who refuses to use plastic straws and we don't use them anymore either! I thought we were responsible for sending our straws for recycling, but the bigger problem is that most people don't do it at all and I'm not sure if they actually get recycled. I read an article about 500 million straws used EVERY DAY in America. We have decided that we will no longer encourage this practice. This is my favorite Christmas present. He works in a restaurant and can take some of them to work in the provided bag, hoping to create "hype" at work and get others to follow his example. He loves that there are so many different sizes to choose from and that they include a brush for cleaning.
