After a short pause, they sound great, loud and clear, and the music kicks in.

After a short break in period they sound great loud and clear and bring music to life. I put them in and an old Technics speaker set that also replaced the midrange with an American 5 inch bass still has the original woofer. The sound is very loud (119dB) and at low (family) volume with everything from progressive death to metal to classical. You can't judge them right away as it took several days to rasterize them.
