Review on πŸš— Enhance Your Ride with Monroe MA785 Max-Air Adjustable Shock Absorber! by Ron Josey

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good shock absorbers, but will not work without air.

it was a good ride but i've been leaking since the day i put them on. I thought it was on my lines somewhere, but I couldn't find it. The last time I was outside the leak got worse and I couldn't hold the air in the shock absorbers, they leaked after a few seconds. As it turned out, the weld on the top bracket cracked/broke and ripped off the case, causing it to leak after a few seconds. Shock absorbers have less than 500 miles on them. I called Monroe and they don't seem to have any guarantees. I've checked the Advance Autoparts website for prices and it seems they offer a 2 year guarantee so I'll probably buy them locally to replace these as I can't guarantee the ones bought from Revain. The other option I'm more likely to choose is the Gabriel 49304 as the reviews I've read say they fit/finish better and also come with a lifetime warranty and only cost $12 more. https://www.amazon.com/Gabriel-49304-Hijackers-Air-Shocks/dp/B001AMEEPO**EDIT**After I received my Gabriel shocks they blew up and could not do the bike under any circumstances keep. Weight on it so I returned them and bought another set of Monroes, I didn't like the way the lines were routed on the Gabriels. When I received the new Monroe kit they leaked just like the originals. I tried and tried to find the leak and couldn't find it. After all, I turned off the neon lights in my store one day when there were no cars and just listened. I heard a low hiss that I had never heard before. It turned out to be a new Viair gauge that had been leaking from the inside since day one. Other than that I'm happy with the shocks and am only changing my rating to a 4 because they crack the welds if you run without air in them and the bushings aren't perfectly round to fit an aftermarket bushing.
