Even though the sticker on the vase says 12 inches, here are the actual measurements: The vase itself is about 8.75 inches tall, the Dorn adds more when deployed 4.25" for an overall length of 13". On the outside of the flared top, the diameter is about 4". The vase and skewer are fairly durable plastic that holds up well in the cold and sunlight; I have them outside for foam. The only problem is a major one: Inserting the spike into the bottom of the vase makes for a loose attachment, I resort to putting 3 or 4 small screws in the bottom of the vase, spaced around the spike the screw heads hold the crown of the spike firmly in the bottom of the vase, never has works for 4-5 vases that have been used for a year each.Glue might also work but many glues don't stick well to smooth plastic like this.But really, is that extra work necessary?No problem with spikes,it will be 5 for sure be stars.
