I needed a smaller algae pad with no handle to clean a small aquarium with some mountain guppies. I know the instructions say it's for glass only - but ok I'll admit it - the bowl I use to clean it is plastic and I haven't had any issues so far. What's especially nice is that the small size makes it easy to clean inside edges, where algae tends to be stubborn and difficult to remove. This little pad was just what we needed to clean our 2 gallon bowl.
