Not enough of each color

I spent the day playing it with my daughter. We dyed the socks that came with the kit and everyone dyed the t-shirt. I had a dress I dyed last year and I didn't like the color so I thought some of it might have been dip dyed but. The only blue in the set was the one I used. The colors seemed random. We had 1 tea green, 1 light blue, a few earthy colors (olive, brown, grey) and highlighter yellow, 2 reds, 2 purples. We divide these into light and earthy colors and postpone the latter to another time. The dye bottles were so small that we couldn't properly dye 2 t-shirts and 2 pairs of socks. If all the colors were uniformly light or earthy then everything would be fine, but I don't see a way to use a lighter yellow and gray or olive green at the same time. Also, it would be nice to have more than 1 blue and more than 2 green. We didn't finish (rinse, dry) the pieces we made, but we were both a little disappointed that we didn't have enough paint to cover the fabric. Mine looks more like graffiti than tie dye and I've already ordered another set to repaint, this time considering kits with 120ml bottles.
