We use paper cups because we are too lazy and don't always want to create a bunch of plates. Sourcing compostable varieties seems like the responsible way to go, and it's a high price to pay. By the way, the patterns are pretty, but they also put many monochromatic patterned cups in the shade. They tolerate heat and cold well and do not crack or sag even after days of fluid accumulation. It comes in a very large box and a quick count shows we have at least 1000 or so, although I always find it funny that these biodegradable cups come in plastic bags/cases.
