Sturdy, I'm generally not a fan of twist curls, but they haven't slipped or untied me yet. I love that the bottom leg unscrews from the monopod (and has a 3/8-16 thread) so it can be screwed onto other legs and bases. The double-sided threading at the top is a nice feature. I didn't think I would use it often, but I use it all the time. If I want to install a ball head I can use the 3/8-16 side. If I want to mount the camera directly on it, a few quick spins and I'll use a 1/4-20 side. with a ball head I can easily look through the viewfinder. My only complaint about it is the strap. If you change the threaded eyelet the strap will come loose as it is held in place by the attached ring and nut and socket at the top. I actually lost my strap at this point because it fell off while changing threads and I just wasn't paying attention. Even with this small problem, the thing is worth its money. It's lightweight, durable even at maximum length, and has a number of great features.
