This is a wonderful charming book with many beautiful patterns. There really is no one who makes knitted animals as "realistic" as Claire Garland. The knitting instructions themselves seem pretty thorough and I'm almost done with the stuffed wolf. The book could definitely have more pictures, especially for sewing instructions which can be confusing with a line or two of instructions written, as well as links to the many different position markers required for each project. I also found two different typos in this pattern (multiple rows of 45 in one section, going from row 18 to row 25 and back to the second eighteenth in another) that seem like something that should have been spotted during the editing phase must. . The yarn lists are also a bit extreme, with up to 13 or 14 different yarns needed for a single project. However, when you look at the projects others have done online, reducing it to less doesn't really yield attractive results. The magic of this knitwear lies in the fact that the author knows how to combine different types of yarns and textures to create the mixed colors and furs that make the animals so realistic, as well as in well-planned short rows and cuts to they detail to create proportions. Even as an experienced knitter, I don't think I can do this in a jiffy, and the book is worth buying for the extra thought and attention that goes into these details.
