Oven filter cover Test with filter catch - easy fix, good value

This is a surprisingly simple invention that finally solves a problem we had at home. The area where I put my filter in the oven had large gaps on the sides, top and bottom. To make matters worse, there were holes on either side of the oven, allowing you to install filters on either side. Thus, air was drawn in from both sides, and very little of the cold return air was likely drawn in. I don't understand why the stove installers haven't figured out how to solve this problem. I considered getting someone to build the door or remake the metal for a tighter fit, but that would cost a fortune. This little invention, while not perfect, improved the situation by 99%. I can still have air that bypasses the filter in the cap, but at least my system is relatively closed so I get better airflow and I wouldn't be surprised if this reduced my bills over time. This consists of two pieces of durable plastic measuring 4.5 x 14 inches. The plastic reminds me of the one found on a pool liner. It's pretty rigid but flexible. Inside the plastic is a magnetic stripe on one end of each piece and two on the sides. The magnets in the broken plastic allow you to stack them in multiple places for a snug fit in your canal. Depending on your channel design, this might work better for some than others. I would encourage you to look at my photos and then take a look at your air ducts to see if this works for you. For me it works great on the bottom but on top the way they designed my channels I need to bend it and place it slightly diagonally. I found the magnets to be strong enough to stick to my canal but flexible enough that I could bend them at the top where I was having fit issues to ensure a snug fit. They come in two pieces so they can be bent on each side and still get a precise fit for different sizes. The two parts overlap so much that no air escapes. My filters are 16 inches in the hole. One thing I can do to make changing filters and rearranging caps easier is to glue the top and bottom edges to the duct. It's not that big of a deal for the bottom, but the top edge is keyed to fit my odd duct fitting, so I figure if I didn't have to remove them completely to change the filter they'd fit longer just fine. I felt it was a reasonable price for what I paid ($8). each) I had to buy 4 so it was worth $32 but I would have spent a lot more if I had called someone to redesign the canal area and install the cap. Also, some caps still don't fully cover the hole ReviewBecky Brooks* I paid full price for this item, it was not a free sample
