LOVE this tray so much! It arrived yesterday and today I "opened" it for the first time - super easy! According to other reviews I put some water on the floor first but it wasn't that warm and I didn't use it for that long. I flipped the tray over and almost effortlessly pulled the lever to "break" the ice. It was really surprisingly easy. I have arthritis in my thumbs and am finding it increasingly difficult to get ice cubes out of plastic trays that require all sorts of twists. I am very happy to have an ice tray that I can use easily without straining my hands and fingers and will be ordering a second block. And a nice fun bonus is that these bowls appear to be replicas of the stainless steel ice cream bowls I remember from my childhood. UPDATE: It's now September and one ice tray has stopped working and the second is likely to be gone soon. The lever doesn't go all the way down. The first one stopped working - the dividers stopped aligning properly and moving the lever stopped moving the dividers, rendering the device unusable. It's sad because these are such cool trays, but I think I need to go back to plastic.
