It's a little hard to tell in the photos but the material isn't like stretchy ultra suede with a uniform color and soft texture (which is what I prefer and hoped for). It is velvety with plush pile and probably explains the price. when you run your hand over the fabric it leaves trails which makes the fibers catch the light and leave light and dark patterns. Not a deal breaker but something to be aware of if you are looking for a uniform color. In my case the charcoal gray sometimes looks light gray depending how the light hits it. also, might be a pain for pet hair and seeing all the prints left behind. The material is very stretchy and the covers fit my larger cushions perfectly. My couch is longer than a 2 seater love seat. So I went up a size and have a bonus cushion cover if needed.I haven't washed anything yet but the stitching seems good and the material is polyester so I think it will wash up fine. Haven't sat on the couch much since putting the cover on so I'm not sure about how it stays tucked with lots of use. I didn't use the ties on the bottom because that seemed like a pain and not super necessary. I do have 'surefit' cover anchors which seem to help so far.
