Review on πŸ”§ Starter Building Pieces for Enhanced Learning Resources by Doug Small

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Can't recommend enough!

Our then 18 month old son was drawn to this set in the discovery area of a local museum. We got his own set when he was 20/21 months old and he has been playing with it almost every day for MONTHS. We have had this product for about 5 months now and my husband and I consider this set to be one of the best toys we have bought for him. We started him with pre-assembled chains of orange and green pieces so he could learn how to fit gears into little pins. Eventually we started making it harder for him by making smaller pre-assembled parts (like shorter chains at first, then just pre-assembled pairs of orange and green parts). After 5 months of use, even if we leave it completely disassembled, our son seems able to piece together anything he wants. Just the other day he proudly showed us a "Doublebus" --- two rows of 3 gears connected together. then (oddly) the pieces don't just fall apart. Yes, they hold together better when squeezed hard, but this toy appears to have been designed for children who are naturally weaker in strength and mobility. It is great. I would recommend this toy to anyone interested in hearing rave reviews from me about it.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
