Review on Enhance Your Home WiFi with the Whole Home WiFi System: Dual Band Mesh Network, AC1200 High Speed, Seamless Roaming, Wide Coverage - Replaces Router & Extender (3 Pack) by Phil Kowal

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I'm beside myself with impressions!

For several years we have struggled with Wi-Fi in our 4,500 square foot home. I've tried Netgear powerline products and Wi-Fi range extenders from three different brands, each time with poor results, sometimes even worse than just connecting directly to the router. This became more and more frustrating as the demands on our WiFi in a family of 5 steadily increased. I ended up ordering the Rock Space Mesh WiFi system and not only was it extremely easy to install, it far exceeded my expectations. For starters, one of the Rock Space devices replaces your cable company's router. As these routers are provided to you, they tend to be on the lower end of the best average in terms of quality and performance. I was apprehensive about replacing my router for fear of falling into the setup and configuration nightmare I've experienced several times over the years trying to improve our internet, but it's no exaggeration when I say that it literally installed itself. The app you download does this for you and all it takes is human input to simply place and connect the devices and then click next. If you have a fifth grader at home, they'll easily do it for you. After setting up 3 knots about 30 feet apart I got a green light each time indicating a strong signal and now that we are covering a 60 foot span from one end of the house to the other we have one much better Wi-Fi signal. than I would have thought possible. Our 200 Mbps wired internet service comes to one end of the house and before we switched to the Rock Space system, the first computer connected to the router with an ethernet cable was the only way we could get the full to reach speed where we were . The payment is about 200MB/s. Wi-Fi at the end of the house where the router was located is about half that, or about 100MB/s. Then the Wi-Fi signal dropped off quickly when you were coming from walked one end of the house to the other. You'll run out of a stable connection by the time you drive about halfway through the house, and at best a 25MB/s connection, which doesn't really mean anything unless it's stable. When you got to the other end of the house there was just no signal. The extension cords were of little help, and even less reliable than the cable company's router. Extenders also required you to manually disconnect from one SSID and connect to another nearby while moving around the house, which was also a headache. With the Rock Space Mesh WiFi system, a speed test run anywhere between the first and second nodes gives the full 200MB, and beyond the 3rd node (more than 60 feet from the router) we still get 75MB /s. Your signal is automatically broadcast, so your device always gets the best possible WiFi signal and a single SSID with combined 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies. I often have trouble buying these things from Revain to the point where I develop analysis paralysis. But that was certainly not necessary with this purchase. Even if it didn't work out so wonderfully, they offer free returns. Buy it, you won't regret it.
