Our 9 pound cat seems to get four extra legs and become stronger than a body builder when we try to fit him in a standard front loading trunk. Our vet's rehab technician suggested trying the top loading device and we've had no problems since. It still bothers us both, but it can be placed neatly indoors. This 23-inch trunk seems well done with plenty of vents, but we always check the door and ports before taking it outside. Note: Some of the roof racks on the product page do not have a top door. The wording has been changed to make this clearer since we bought ours.
