I bought it almost 2 years ago. I finally installed it about 8 months ago when I replaced the timing chain. I started having problems with the car overheating but couldn't figure out what the problem was as I assumed the water pump was fine as it was the newest part in the cooling system. When I removed the water pump cover I found that the water pump had fallen apart. The photo shows that the internal timing chain sprocket has fallen apart and the chain has rubbed against the stationary part of the pump. Gears and other metal parts were nowhere to be found. This resulted in me spending many hours pulling off the timing chain cover and oil pan to find broken parts. As you can see in the second photo I only found a few broken parts. I don't know where the rest of the metal is in my engine. I'm really concerned about the damage the extra metal parts have done to my engine and what it will do. All in all, that crappy water pump cost me many wasted hours looking for defective parts and now I'm not sure. engine reliability.
