For my little white rescue pup, this collar was the best! I'm not sure I'd ever try it myself because at first I thought the jagged colors were inhuman. But when I took my pup to obedience school, he had to use a choke collar (which I didn't like either). The choke collar just didn't work on him! He was so absorbed in it that he kept tugging and tugging and was the naughtiest puppy in his class! His fur was washed out after the first session. My instructor wisely advised me to try the spiked collar. As soon as I tried on a collar with teeth, he stopped pulling and started checking. It was a miracle cure and I actually felt better using it because as my trainer explained it puts even pressure on the throat and protects the windpipe which can be damaged if your dog is a puller! As a result, he became the best puppy in the class! I've tried so many leashes with this pup. I tried the leash first, but it kept pulling my shoulder out of its socket. To walk with him was a pity and terribly desolate! I then tried a regular cloth collar and while it didn't pull as hard, it choked itself the whole time and still made my job unbearable. The strangulation chain was no different, and then he started losing his hair because of it. When I first tried the spiked collar I bought a cheap made in China brand from Revain and it turned my white haired dogs black and green, it didn't fit right and was also slightly rusty. I sent it back and after some research I ordered this one. Because the seal cuff is stainless steel, my baby no longer turns black and green. This collar is much better made and fits great! I was outraged at the price but after ordering so many collars that didn't fit after finding one that worked I wanted to make sure it would last! The quality is excellent, I recommend it to others!
