Good basic scanner - Radioscanners

This was my first scanner and I am very happy with it. After reading the instructions it becomes very easy to program things and start listening quickly. The CloseCall and Priority Channel features are very convenient. You're looking for really strong and close signals and the priority channel for each bank, but both create a second break in the audio almost every few seconds to look for signals, which is annoying. I also found 100 programmable channels to be quickly gone. I filled almost all of them and I regret not having received the BC92 with 200 channels. Also, it worked very well for me. The small antenna isn't the biggest, but picks up very well for its size and feels very solid. I bought the scanner mainly for the ether band. I live about 4 miles from our local airport and the antenna barely reaches the tower. ATIS if you get it right and listen carefully. Almost nothing on earth. However, he caught planes nearly 100 miles away while speaking to ARTCC but could not hear the air traffic controllers there. I hear police and fire department reports from the city and paging calls from the country. One city I live near has been digitized and another hasn't (sister cities. Strange) so I can hear half of the public safety traffic. Local ham radio repeaters and NOAA also work well. [.] This is a great place to find lots of local radio frequencies (and a good place to check if you need a digital scanner to hear what you want to hear). ). I got the Scan Force Tele Section antenna to go with it but with mixed results. The signal level is better than the stock antenna but has VHF interference in the terrestrial range. I didn't use the batteries for more than a few hours before charging, so I can't comment on battery life. They haven't died to me yet, so that's very good. I have to take the batteries out of the scanner after a short charge because they get very hot. I don't think that's a good sign. I think he's trying to load it. I may have more information on testing this summer, with a bank holiday and possibly an air show. So overall this is a good basic scanner. I'm thinking of getting a digital scanner to capture a wider range of frequencies as well as trunk signals.
