I bought this to connect my Passport Max 2 to my car's electrical system. It works exactly as you would expect and provides an easy way to quickly disable the detector if it picks up random signals that don't pose a real threat. Then I drilled the required holes, removed the circuit board from the cable and installed it in my modified dashboard. I used epoxy to secure everything in place so nothing comes loose, when I press the mute button. Then I soldered all the necessary connections back to the cable that I had to cut (to fit where I wanted). Finally I took the bezel from the original cord and glued it to my trace on the outside of the dash. It doesn't look 100% factory installed,
