Does exactly what it's supposed to do, cheap
I use it in reverse as we have two sets that use coax on the back of the TV (cable TV plus our old Atari). Attached one end to the back of the TV with a 2" cable and left the double (splitter) end in front so we could switch Atari and cables at will. Works normally and does not affect the signal quality of HD channels. What are you risking for $3? Unimportant. Try it and see if it works for you.
