Find your leak! in my review

After reading many reviews I decided to give this a shot since my radiator was leaking for a couple weeks from an unknown location. After purchase I used it in the reservoir and to my surprise the leak continued again for weeks. I also noticed that my radiator was no longer pulling coolant from its resivior. So I decided to take a peak and noticed the gunked up the hose going from the resivior tank to the radiator. And soon after I found the leak coming from a small return hose. So after…

Pros
  • So good. Worked so well.
Cons
  • Good Product!!

Has been working for 500 miles. Good so far.

Working in my diesel mercedes GL. Had a leak that required refilling about every 60 miles. This stopped it in about ten minutes. Oddly, this car temp stays about 90 degrees Centigrade. Just below boiling.

Pros
  • Cooling System
Cons
  • The product may have a strong, unpleasant odor

Mondo impressed! on my review.

My average running highway temp in my van has been around 210F for over a year. Recently, it started overheating, particularly in stop-and-go traffic, to about 250-260F. Noticed after pulling over steam was pouring out of the radiator. Tried this product and drove over 150 miles in both highway and city traffic and my engine temp never got over 170F and was averaging around 160F. I can't believe what a significant difference this stuff made and really wishing I had tried it a lot sooner!

Pros
  • Provides a long-lasting seal
Cons
  • The product may cause irritation or allergic reactions in some people

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Really works! on my review.

Had my doubts, but this stuff stopped a very persistent leak that was making me refill my expansion tank every day! Not a drop since then (about three months now). Definitely worth every penny and saved me from spending the $2K that the mech wanted to replace all the hoses in and around the engine (I have a Jag). I keep an extra bottle in my garage now just in case.

Pros
  • ‎1.25 pounds
Cons
  • The product may not be effective for all types of leaks or cooling system problems

Kind of does and doesn't work

Give it to stars because it did stop the leak I had a leak in a 2001 Ford Taurus and I could not find where the leak was but only giving it to stars because it actually cause the vehicle to overheat after pouring the leak repair into coolant reservoir so ended up having to flush entire cooling system and refill with distilled water and flush again to correct the problem but it no longer leaks any coolant would recommend as a quick Band-Aid fix would not recommend as a long-term fix

Pros
  • ‎Bar's Leaks
Cons
  • The product may be difficult to apply or administer without proper tools or equipment

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works very well: my feedback

Worked on first application even though I had to add to the overflow tank. Just had to run it a bit longer than the instructions said. The leak I had wasnt huge.

Pros
  • Premium Carbon Fiber Formulation For Extended Protection
Cons
  • The product may stain or damage your car's upholstery or paint if spilled

It worked for me in my review

I used a full bottle in my 1999 Chevy Cavalier 2.4l. It was leaking coolant from a hose behind the engine. I had to add coolant once a week for awhile. I tried this out and followed all directions. It stopped the leaking significantly. I might have to use another bottle but I'm impressed at the performance.

Pros
  • Seemed t do the trick
Cons
  • Did not work, followed instructions to the letter and I've still got the same tiny leak.

Fixed a Leak on a 2010 Ford F-150

I drive a 2010 Ford F-150. I picked this up at a local auto parts store because I didn't have the money to fix a leaking water pump. The leak wasn't huge but it was definitely there. Shook it up, dumped it in the overflow tank, then ran my engine for approximately 15 minutes. The leak did not stop immediately and I assumed that either the leak was too large to be fixed this way, or that the product was faulty. A couple of days later, I was shocked to see that the leak had actually stopped…

Pros
  • This stuff works
Cons
  • The product may not work if there is a large leak in your car's system

Yes, yes, and yes.: my feedback

Took my 2009 Buick LaCrosse CX to the shop and was told I'd need the timing cover gasket replaced ($1400). The mechanic said I could try this stuff and it worked almost immediately. Been a couple weeks and the leak is completely gone with no sign of coolant loss and no sign of cloggage (the heat still works great). I added this stuff right after my cooling system was flushed, and I made sure to continuously run the heat at full blast for the first couple days after adding it. Will update if an…

Pros
  • Great value and product
Cons
  • The product may only provide a temporary fix and not solve the root problem with your car's cooling system

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Works but only temporary

Temporary fix. Works like a band aid but definitely not permanent. Had to keep buying it to help with my coolant loss issue. Only good for a few drives

Pros
  • Country Of Manufacture: United States
Cons
  • The product may not be effective for heavy-duty use or extreme weather conditions

Beware. don't add to antifreeze!

This product did not work for me. Maybe it works with water only. I added it to the antifreeze coolant and it immediately caused the engine to overheat. Clogged up the radistor. What a mess. Good thing I was watching the temperature gauge. Otherwise it would have ruined my engine. Scotty Kilmer on utube warns not to use this stuff.

Pros
  • Had a gallon per week coolant leak.... now I do not.Worked perfectly.
Cons
  • The product may not work effectively for every type of car engine

Great to plug leaks

This stuff works. The mechanic said I've got a leaky manifold and I'll be damned if I'm gonna get it fixed, because that would cost more than the car. I ordered this, but then decided I couldn't wait. It has gotten to the point where i was leaking water as fast as I was burning gas. Desperate I went into advance Auto parts and bought a bottle. I didn't have to fill my radiator again for two weeks. After a couple of months I put this ebay bottle in. Now, I still have to keep an eye on it, but I…

Pros
  • Oils & Fluids
Cons
  • The product may not be safe for use in older cars or high-performance engines

Added to the problem

I added entire bottle like directions said. The next day driving to work I noticed the heat wasn'tgetting very warm, the next day I put a thermometer in the vent and the temp. coming out was only 60degrees. This product clogged the heater core and cost $100 to have it flushed out to where the heateris back to normal. (140 degrees). On the flip side it did stop the small coolant leak coming from the engine.

Pros
  • Fixed my coolant leak.
Cons
  • The packaging is not eco-friendly or recyclable

Like my headline says. This will vary by the user and their car. If the user does not apply this sealant correctly, it may not work right. If the users car has leaks that are too large to be sealed, it most certainly will NOT work at all.I have a 2011, Chrysler 200, 145,000 miles. Long story short, had a coolant leak in the winter, didn't know it, car never ran hot due to the cold, once the weather shifted into the 70's and 80's, the car heated SEVERELY to the point of failure (turned off). I…

Didn't work for me

Tried it on the 2003 crown Vic notorious intake manifold leak. Did not work. Maybe wrong product for the problem. That's my feedback.

Pros
  • It did what it was supposed to do
Cons
  • The Bar's Leaks High Mileage Cooling System Repair is expensive for the amount of product you get

I am a Bar Leaks fine FOREVER.

I had a coolant leak as of 9/21/2015 and WAS TERRIFIED and DEPRESSED just contemplating what the mechanic would "find". I bought this product in desperation w/ faint hope and trust that it would work. I followed the instructions to the letter and IT WORKED. My leak is NO MORE. I am a Bar Leaks fine FOREVER.

Pros
  • Stops Cooling System Leaks
Cons
  • The product may not be legal for use in certain states or countries

Does what it says it will.

I usually don’t write reviews but this is one of the coolest products I’ve seen. There’s a chance it may not work and it warns of that on the bottle, but this is really a last option product to seal leaks. My radiator has a serious leak problem, drains in seconds. I put 1 bottle of this in it and in 15 minutes, sealed and holding coolant. For $12 you might as well try it to temporarily offset the $250-$400 you might pay on a replacement radiator. Definitely recommend. Beware though, don’t put…

they DO work for my opinion

worked. put it in, got engine to temp where fan clutches in (25 minutes), and shut off. Over a week later still no leaks. Was dripping heavy after shutdown and just enough to keep perpetual puddle when cold, was in radiator fin area halfway past middle towards suction side, 83 chev p30 motorhome.

Pros
  • ‎USA
Cons
  • The product may cause clogs in your car's cooling system if not used correctly

Did not stop the leak on plastic tank

My fj has very small pin hole on the plastic tank of the radiator. As following the instruction, the radiator was flushed and refilled with the brand new coolant, and then ran the engine for about 30 mins. However it did not stop the small pin hole as I dound it 2 days after. At least it did not clog the heater core but did not stop the coolant leak.

Pros
  • good pro
Cons
  • Smells bad but stopped the leak in the heater core for now 2 months in...

Works Great! Maybe a little too great.

I have a 2010 Hyundai Accent and last year I had a leak in the radiator with a nice puddle under the front of my car. Tried for 2 hours and couldn't find the crack or hole in the radiator and I didn't have the means to repair it professionally. I bought this stuff hoping it would fix the problem and it did! One bottle did the trick and I made sure to follow the directions to a T. It fixed it so well, in fact, that I forgot that I had the issue with the radiator until a year later when my car…

Pros

Cons
  • The product may void your car's manufacturer warranty
