Does the job when not digging cement.
This is a sharp shovel. It definitely pierced the ground if it wasn't solid. I'm sure the composite handle is very strong as it flexes a bit, but I see many uses for a portable shovel like this. For example when camping with a fire or small holes for things. You can't force anyone to dig their own grave or anything except small holes.
