We use this spray at home because our daughter is allergic to members of our canine family. Please note the instructions clearly state which fabrics this cannot be used on. There is another product from the same company designed for use on white fabrics. ALSO, we NEVER smell the bleach that other reviewers mention. The precautions listed on the bottle (copied below) require a test on a small area before applying the product, stressing that this is important if cleaning products or deodorants have been used previously. It seems clear that the strong odor experienced by some was likely a chemical reaction with other chemical residue (particularly the carpet). It amazes me that people who take the time to write detailed negative reviews don't take the time to read the precautions and instructions BEFORE using the product. The precautions for using the container are listed below. I would like to see them before buying. PRECAUTIONS: Before applying this product, test each item to be treated on a small inconspicuous area and allow to dry completely. This is also important if cleaning products and deodorants have been used before. They may have left chemical residues that cause discoloration or stains. Do not use if stains appear. Do not spray on white or off-white carpets or fabrics. Avoid spraying on water-sensitive fabrics such as silk, Haitian cotton, and certain wools, including some oriental rugs. Do not spray on wood or walls. Do not spray on wet or wet surfaces. Do not put the product in the laundry. Store cool and dry. Do not spray directly on animals or pets. As with all chemicals, keep out of the reach of children. Surfaces treated with Allersearch ADS should not be subjected to subsequent wet or steam cleaning. We recommend vacuuming or other dry cleaning methods.
