My 12 year old son has been wearing them for about 3 weeks and they have almost lost their grip. He's an aggressive racer, but six days of skiing at our local ski resort shouldn't have broken them. After two days of riding I could already see bare patches on the handles. Two more days and the part of the handle that rests on his thumb started peeling off on both sides. I'm sure they'll work for kids roaming their neighborhoods (or adults), but they won't work if you're roaming the streets and really need a grip.
