For Miata 2000. I've read quite a bit about how a weighted shift knob makes shifting smoother, but I wasn't willing to pay more than $100 to test the idea. Alternative buttons are available: Skunk2, Moddication, Voodoo and more. I wanted steel instead of aluminum because of the weight difference. I also didn't want the shift knob to be higher than the stock shifter. This manufacturer has a deep drop, so the shift height is lower or at least no higher than the stock front derailleur. I was trying to avoid shifters with set screws and having to align the shift pattern, making the actual shifter higher than it needed to be. Installation was easy. I removed the old pin. Fully insert the brass threaded adapter and tighten the shift knob. Just. First impression is that shifting is smoother. The chrome finish could have been thicker which would have made the grip smoother but that seems to be a minor issue. I'm very satisfied with this product.
