I really like that it's light. The whistle is not too loud. You would only hear it if you were in another room. If you had been upstairs you wouldn't have heard him. Maybe it's great for people who need a kettle that isn't too loud. If you're caring for a toddler or younger child, or if someone in the house likes to nap, this kettle is fine as it's not loud enough to wake them up.
